Handmade by master Zapotec artisans Antonia + Tomás in Oaxaca, Mexico.
Antonia learned the art from her father, and has been involved in the process her whole life. Her favorite part of the process is choosing the colors and Zapotec patterns for a particular bag. She produces some of MZ Made's most loved designs.
MZ Made is a B Corp Certified, women-owned + women-run brand that partners with indigenous Zapotec designers + artisans from Oaxaca, Mexico. Our work as a brand is to connect their incredible artistry with a wider market, make a positive impact by creating opportunities for sustainable employment, nurturing lasting relationships, and always abiding by fair trade principles. In addition to our B Corp certification, we are accredited Fair Trade by the Fair Trade Federation. We recognize the significant role that weaving plays in maintaining and celebrating the incredible Zapotec artisanal lineage. It is our goal to make weaving a more viable livelihood for the artisans while growing our business in a mutually beneficial and respectful way.
