Product Care
American Darling Hair On Hide Products:
Wipe smoothly in the direction of the hair with a damp (not wet) cloth using mild soap and water. Do not soak the hide or get it wet, and do not wash in a washing machine or dry clean. Brushing the cowhide with a hard plastic brush or comb will help to keep the hair soft and fluffy and helps to remove dirt.
American Darlin Leather Products:
Wash your hands. Leather is susceptible to absorbing grease and oil. Do a quick cleaning every so often, briskly sweeping your leather bag with a soft, dry, or slightly damp (not wet) cloth. Once or twice a year, do a more thorough cleaning to remove dirt buildup. Wipe down your leather bag with a cleaner made specifically for leather or mild dish soap. Apply in a circular motion, and wipe off with a slightly damp cloth to avoid clogging the pores of the leather. Don't forget to condition! Leather conditioner is essential to moisturize your leather bag. Without it, the leather will dry out over time. To prevent flaking and wrinkling, apply leather conditioner to a soft cloth and gently rub over entire bag. Depending on the dryness or humidity in your climate, apply conditioner at least twice a year, up to once a month or so, to keep your leather bag soft and supple.
